INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoon ghee
  • 2 tablespoon cashew nuts
  • 1 pinch of red/green food color

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a heavy bottom kadai boil half cup water and sugar. Now add lemon juice and again boil.
  • In a bowl mix the corn flour in 1 cup of water. Chop the cashew nuts coarsely and keep it aside
  • Add the corn flour mixture, pinch of color, and cardamom powder to the sugar solution, half of cashew and stir
  • Stir continously so that no lumps are formed. After 2-3 minutes pour ghee and dry fruits
  • Now the mixture would start to look like jelly
  • Lower the flame and pour the mixture to a greased plate, cool and cut it into pieces
  • Garnish the cubes of halwa with the chopped cashew nuts
