DESCRIPTION:

Avere kaalu is also called as field beans or flat beans. We get Avarekai during winter season and very much favourite for all

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup field beans
  • 1 chopped potato
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 6 green chiily
  • 2 chopped tomato
  • 1 tea spoon mustard seeds and jeera
  • 1 spoon curry masala powder
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 6 curry leaves
  • 1 table spoon oil
  • 1 spoon niger seeds powder (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Take oil in a cooker and heat it
  • Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and onion then fry it till onion turns golden colour
  • Add beans and potato in to it and fry for 5 min
  • close the cooker lid and leave it for 2 whistles
  • After the pressure released add niger seeds powder, grated coconut, masala powder, salt for a taste
  • leave it for 5 min in a medium flame then serve it hot with chapathi or any roti
