Originated from North American region, onion rings are now quite famous, notable and accepted across the globe as a simple and delectable, and crispy snack to eat. The onion rings recipe came in the block around Nineteen Thirties (1930s). This onion snack is eaten in most parts of the globe starting from Unites States, Canada to United Kingdom, Australia, and many parts of Asia. This entree or snack dish can be served along with main course also. This easy and quick to cook onion rings contain normal & regular ingredients that you will be able to come across in your kitchen room easily. Let’s talk about the steps and that should help the beginners with the process of cooking.


  • 4 large onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying


  • Cut the onions in the form of rings
  • Separate every onion slices and dust with the flour; keep aside in a dish
  • Keep a plate filled with bread crumbs on one side
  • Start to prepare the thick batter with gram flour, corn flour, baking powder,1/2 cup bread crums, ginger & garlic paste, powder of red chilli, and salt
  • Heat oil within the skillet
  • Dip the dusted onion rings in the batter and coat with bread crumbs
  • Deep fry the onion rings until they are golden brown
  • Serve hot together with your most liked sauce
  • Tips: • You may add 1 egg also in the batter which can provide extra taste and shine • If over-cooked the rings will taste bitter • You can try to bake the onion rings rather than deep frying which is a healthier choice
