Most tempting, delicious, and heart-melting food that is loved almost everyone is chocolate. Chocolate is produced from cocoa beans and has a tedious process that should be followed to get the fine form of chocolates that finally comes to us. Cocoa solids are antioxidant in nature and if eaten right, it can prove good for your health. With its long history, chocolate consumption can be traced back to 1750 BC. And chocolate cake is the magical combination of fluffy cakes with chocolate flavour. The traditional chocolate cake has got some twists to it over the period of time to get a posh, elegant or a funky look and taste. But today, I shall share with you the good old fashioned chocolate cake to take you to heaven.


  • 250 gm plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 50 gm cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar powder
  • 3 eggs (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 200 gm condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoon icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 100 ml milk
  • 100 ml Coke/Thumbs Up


  • Mix the condensed milk and butter in a bowl and beat well till it becomes smooth
  • Add the eggs at this time (optional)
  • Sieve flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and cocoa
  • Now mix this flour mixture gradually with the dairy mixture
  • Add a little more milk if required as the mixture might get hard
  • Stir the mixture in one direction or apply folding method to mix until the dough becomes light
  • At the end add Coke or Thumbs Up and mix gently
  • Pour this mixture into a greased cake tin to fill 1/4th of the tin because after baking the cake will rise up, occupying the remaining space
  • Pre-heat oven to 300 degree C
  • Bake at 200 degree C for 25-30 minutes and then at 150 degree C till it is baked completely
  • Insert a knife to check if it is cooked
  • If it comes out clearly then take it out cool on a wire rack otherwise bake it for another 5 minutes
  • Instructions to cook in cooker: Add 1-2 cup salt at the cooker base and keep a cooker plate/stand on it
  • Pre-heat the cooker for 5 minutes on medium flame by closing the lid
  • Now place the baking pan with cake and close the cooker lid without putting the whistle and gasket
  • Cook it for 45-55 minutes in low flame but do have a check after 40 minutes
  • Tips: • You can pour liquid chocolate for a glaze • You can sprinkle icing sugar to give it a snowy look
